Apples war on porn

I read a quote today from Steve Jobs that said "the people who want porn can use the Android." Now i don't personally have any personal interest in this being as i have no intentions of ever buying an iphone, and even if i did i wouldn't use it for porn. I like my porn on a large computer monitor. But it is the arrogant attitude and even the stupidity behind the statement and policy that annoy me.

Why intentionally cost yourself business when you are not actually protecting anyone? Porn doesn't just put itself on your screen, you have to search for it to see it. Therefore anyone who doesn't want porn on their phone wouldn't have to worry anyway. However, on the opposite note, i'm sure there are now many dissatisfied customers, although most will undoubtedly find other ways around apples efforts.

Then there is the victorian smugness behind the statement. Who the hell is Steve Jobs to inflict his morality on his customers? As if porn is the cause of societies problems. Well have no fear, our politicians may be corrupt, our country may be going broke, and we may have to drink oil soon, but here comes the little queer Steve Jobs to save the day in his faggoty turtle neck shirt with his anti porn phone.

And to anyone who says: "well they don't need porn on their phones anyway..." it doesn't fucking matter. It isn't about need, it's about want. And what they want isn't illegal so fuck him, he should stay out of their business and out of their phones. Once the customer buys the phone it is no longer his property. They should be able to do with it whatever they like. Game applications aren't needed either but many people seem to enjoy them. Either remove the game apps or don't try talking about what is or isn't necessary. I am so sick of people thinking their indulgences are ok but other peoples indulgences shouldn't be allowed.

Hmm, I am not sure what his claim is about since I have never wasted the time to look for porn until I got my Iphone. Porn has always been entertaining for many reasons, but on a computer it is not worth the risk. On the Iphone however, all of my data is backed up onto my laptop so if I did get a virus I could reformat the phone in minutes. Besides this, the Iphone is actually safer because most legitamate porn sites take the time to make mobile versions of their site, so it is easy to avoid shady porn sites. On top of all that, the Iphone simplifies searching so much that finding amusing porn videos is effortless. It is almost as if they designed the Iphone specifically for porn, and to reinforce that view.. There are porn related apps straight from apple. So I have no idea what this garbage is all about in the first place..

Lmao, in response to this message I checked the current porn situation. It turns out that apple Has already removed all porn related apps and even better, removed all porn sites from any search apps. However, I assume because of the decrease in overall bandwidth from the constant searches, the porn websites now load over 100 times faster. On the other hand, many legitamite search tools that had high ratings have plummeted since the porn was removed. Either way, while thinking about all this I had the realization that all the porn downloads probably encompass 90% or more of the currently unlimited data usage that people are alotted. Therefore it was probably a smart move considering the huge expense. But it is ridiculous that apple pretends like they feel it is immoral all of a sudden when that was never their motive. Besides, they just reduced their future profits by a large margin considering the new plan to remove unlimited data plans.
